Varsity Girls Tennis head coach Alyssa LaPane shook up the starting lineup on Senior Day by having the BHS seniors playing all the singles matches. Like nearly any other day in the month of May, the weather was cool, until the sun broke out at the end of the matches.
Izzie Henderson, who normally competes in first doubles, received the honor of playing first singles and beat Waltham’s Megan Wan 6-1, 6-1. Izzie’s usual partner, Nghi Nguyen, was selected to play second singles and defeated Gina Herosian, 6-0, 6-0.
Senior Hannah Kilroy, who typically is in the second singles pairing, won the third singles match over Devon Pintabone, 6-0, 6-0.

First doubles featured seniors Maya Bostwick and Julia Grossman who won 6-1, 6,0 over Sohini Shah and Madison Wan.
Although everyone wanted to break into the traditional victory banana bread, they waited for the finish of the second doubles match of senior Sami Gilbert and junior Jackie Stevens. Bedford defeated Waltham’s pairing of Alia Tovadjine and Jamie Mills, 6-0, 6-4.
Bedford’s next match was on Friday against Boston Latin at home.
