Bedford’s 2017 Prom Stroll will be held on Tuesday, May 30 on Bedford Common, 4 to 6 pm. The class picture will be taken by photographer Jan van Steenwijk at 4:45 and the promenade will follow. This is a town-wide community event celebrating the Class of 2017.  All are welcome! In the case of inclement weather, the event will be held in the high school gymnasium.

The Bedford Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Barrett Sotheby’s International Realty will be the 2017 Premier Sponsor of the Senior Prom Stroll. Barrett Sotheby’s International Realty is a residential real estate agency founded on a vision of providing personalized service to ensure all clients’ needs are met and expectations exceeded, serving Bedford, Lexington & surrounding community.

The event was started in 1997 when Chamber Director, Maureen Sullivan, coaxed 35 couples to begin the tradition of the stroll.  It would be the beginning of a town-wide community event that now draws from every segment of the community.  It has a touch of “Norman Rockwell” as the community gathers to watch the seniors and their dates stroll into the next stage of their life.  “This event epitomizes what Bedford is as a community.  Families, friends and just people who love to witness this tradition, come out to help celebrate our young people as they move on from BHS” said Sullivan.

Diane Cadogan Hughes of Barrett SIR says, “We are so honored to sponsor and participate in such a cherished tradition as our Prom Stroll here in historic Bedford Center. It’s a timeless event and such a joyful time for so many students.”
