Children of Eden and Lion King, Jr. win Massachusetts Educational Theatre Awards

The Massachusetts Educational Theatre Guild’s 5th annual awards ceremony took place at the Cutler Majestic Theatre in Boston on Saturday, June 24.

Nominated for multiple awards and competing in a field of 62 productions with 281 student actors, Bedford won three categories:

  • Best Leading Actress: Natalie Lewis for Children of Eden
  • Best Supporting Actor: Liam Buckley for Lion King Jr.
  • Best Choral Ensemble: Bedford High School for Children of Eden

The 2017 BHS spring musical Children of Eden nominations included Best Overall Production; Best Acting Ensemble; Best Supporting Actor: Jayden Heller; Best Supporting Actress: Kirsten Henry; Best Featured Ensemble: The Snake; Best Lighting Design and Execution; Best Props Design and Execution; Best Sound. Lion King, Jr., this year’s JGMS musical, received nominations for  Best Choral Ensemble; Best Make-up and Hair; Best Costumes.
