Wedgewood Splits Dual Meet Against Wayland

On Saturday, July 1st, the summer Colonial League season kicked off for Wedgewood with a dual meet (swim and dive) against Wayland.

The Dive Team came out with a solid win, while the swimmers were just edged out by the Wayland swimmers resulting in a loss overall (368 to 450).

Top place finishers for the Wedgewood Dive Team for the July 1 dual meet include: Taelor Nichols (1st) and Delaney Bertos (2nd) for 10 and under, Sophia Demeo (2nd) and Isabelle Wilson(4th) for 12 and under, Isabella Seldon (1st) and Maxwell Weisz (2nd) for 14 and under, and  CaitlynPequeno (2nd) for 17 and under.   The dive team also participated in an all-dive meet against at Chelmsford on June 30th.Notable finishes for the June 30 dive meet vs. Chelmsford include Caitlyn Pequeno (1st) for 17 and under and Isabella Seldon (1st) for 14 and under.

Wedgewood also had top finishes in relays including a second place in the Girls 200 Yard Freestyle Grand Relay (Delany Bertos, Kitty Warhover, Lily Nemirovsky, Katie Dillon, and Julia Dearing), a second place in the Boys 200 Yard Freestyle Grad Relay (Owen Brough, Sebastian Woolnough, Chris Wirth, Matthew Tonini and George Rackey), and a second in the Girls 100 Yard Medley Grad Relay (Aliyah Lussier, Isabella Seldon, Ashley Fallon, and Madeline Woolnough).

Wedgewood’s next swim meet is July 8th at the Heritage Club in Concord.
