I do not understand why the Town of Bedford has agreed to Massport’s truck route plan for the Hanscom Runway Project without any discussion of alternative routes. It takes only 10 minutes on the internet to see that there is an alternative route to the Hanscom runway repair sites from Route 2A, that would avoid residential areas altogether.

It is the Town of Bedford’s responsibility to represent the concerns of its citizens regarding safety (as in traffic safety), and maintenance of infrastructure (including roads). Why would the Town not push back on Massport’s plan to use densely populated residential Bedford streets as the main construction routes? Especially since such pressure does frequently win concessions in other towns affected by Massport projects (i.e., East Boston, Winthrop, etc.)?
