Bedford Cross-Country teams have only one home meet this season. Everyone expected a nice cool September day. Mother Nature brought 86 degrees in the shade at start time. Bedford Bucs hosted the Weston Wildcats and Cambridge Rindge Falcons.
Bedford Bucs hosted the Weston Wildcats and Cambridge Rindge Falcons. The race course followed the same pattern as the summer Track and Field High School fundraiser around JGMS.

Senior Liam Silver was the top Bedford Boy’s finisher at 18:52. Bedford was without junior powerhouse runner Jasper Shapiro who was resting an injury, and some Bedford athletes also suffered some ill effects from a Bedford Day road race. Joe Robinson, Ryan Oulette, Alan Wang, Ethan Harbour round out Bedford’s top five boys runners.
Senior Sophia Conde was the top Girl’s finisher at 21:44. This was Sophia’s first race in a Bedford uniform after spending her junior year in Colorado. Sophomores Madeline and Anna Broyard took 7th and 8th, with times of 22:51 and 22:58. Freshman Ashley Cooper and sophomore Gabriella Fournier round out the top five Bucs girls racers.
Both the girl’s and boy’s Cross-Country teams race next at Franklin Park in a Tri-Meet against Boston Latin and Wayland on October 4th.
