Bedford was without their Captain and main goalie Casey Millar due to an injury when the Bucs took on 4th ranked Newburyport in the first round of the MIAA Boy’s Soccer Playoffs.  Sophomore Chris Venuti stepped into the goal and denied every Newburyport shot.

The game remained scoreless most of the first half until sophomore Matias Ou chipped a little shot over the Newburyport’s goalie head to give Bedford the lead it needed.

The second half was almost brutal as players banged bodies to fight for possession of every free ball.

The team travels to play 5th ranked Watertown Monday at 7 pm, for the second round of the playoffs.  Meteorologists believe that the light rain of the day should be over by game time.
