The Bedford Free Public Library announces the call for entries for its Biennial Community Show. The Biennial is a juried exhibit of art by people who live or work in the Bedford area. The exhibit will run from Tuesday, Nov. 21 through Wednesday, January 10. All are invited a reception at the library on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 5 to 6 p.m.
Work must be original, created in the last 2 years, and not shown before in the Library. 2-D work must be framed and ready for hanging with wire; work with sawtooth hangers cannot be considered. Entries are limited to two (or series) per person. There is no entry fee. Applications are available at the Events and Exhibits section of the library website: www.bedfordlibrary.net
This year’s juror is Erin Becker. She is the Norma Jean Calderwood Director of the Cambridge Art Association (CAA). Since 2012, Erin has increased the visibility of the Association by creating new and continuing exhibitions and programs, including establishing a youth outreach program in collaboration with Cambridge Creativity Commons and Cambridge Youth Programs/Gately Youth Center; creating an ongoing series of exhibits to promote local emerging artists; relaunching the CAA’s art lending programs; and fostering collaborative relationships with local organizations, including Maud Morgan Arts, Cambridge Community Television, Lesley University College of Art and Design (LUCAD) and the Griffin Museum of Photography.

- Drop off at Library Meeting Room, ground floor, Sat. Nov. 18, from 3–5 pm or Sun. Nov. 19, 1–3 pm
- Notification of acceptance will be posted on the Library website after 6 pm Sun. Nov. 19
- Pick up work not accepted Mon. Nov. 20, 12–1 pm and 7–8 pm
- Pick up exhibited work Wed. Jan. 10, 11 am–12 pm and 7–8 pm
