It was a cold, cold night and both Bedford and Stoneham needed an entire quarter to warm up their shooting hands.  But in the end, it was Bedford’s bench that got the hot hand and won the game 58-44.

The first quarter ended with Stoneham up 10-8 as both sides had a problem hitting the basket.  With less than a minute to go in the first quarter, Senior Mel Proulx subbed in and started a Bedford run that ended with the Bucs up 30-22 at halftime.  Junior Joelle DeLia had 7 free throw attempt in the 2nd quarter.

After Bedford had established strong drives into the paint,  Stoneham allowed four different Bucs to sink three-pointers: Dani Arnold, Jess MacLellan, Jenn Rennich and Nicole Bianco.

The Bedford Bucs’ bench is deep with shooters like Mel Proulx, Abby Monahan, Dani Arnold, and Nicole Bianco.

Capt. Cate Marcus continues to be a beast, scoring 13 points on the night including all 7 free throws.

Girls Basketball has their next game at home against Dracut on January 3rd.
