Bedford Embraces Diversity will host its second annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Breakfast beginning at 9:30 am on Monday, January 15, at the First Church of Christ, Congregational, 25 The Great Road.

This event is open to the public, and will feature  a continental breakfast, appropriate music, and remarks by Bedford High School METCO graduates about their experiences in today’s workplace and the “real world.” The speakers will include Akil Mondesir, a BHS graduate now serving as the district’s acting METCO coordinator.

There also will be opportunities to take part in or listen to facilitated dialogue amongst the audience on meeting the challenges of understanding and appreciating Dr. King’s values and principles in today’s United States.  The discussion facilitator will be BHS graduate Chris Zellner, now a veteran teacher at the high school whose courses include African-American studies. Representatives from government, education, industry and local institutions are being invited to join the celebration.

Admission is $5, payable at the door. Reservations are required, by writing [email protected] or calling Mike Rosenberg at 781-983-1763.
