UPDATE AT 4 pm: The NWS snow totals are significantly higher than first thought this morning, with wind gusts possibly higher than 50 miles per hour.

The National Weather Service has issued their first estimates on snow totals for Thursday’s forecast so the amounts could well change.

Snow will begin on Thursday morning and last through the evening commute. The highest totals are predicted for Rhode Island and Eastern Massachusetts where a winter storm watch has been issued.
