Bedford Boys Basketball started off the MIAA Playoffs with a resounding 72-42 win against Saugus.  Although it took the team a little while to get the water out of the fuel line of their offensive engine, once they got started, it seemed like everything was going in the basket.

Captain Jack Cowan gets the “Buccaneer Cutpurse Award” for constantly stealing the ball for an easy layup.  Jack had 10 points on the night.  When Jack wasn’t scoring, he was feeding alley-oops to Malachi Hazelton for monster jams. Malachi ended the night with 17 points, a team high.

Bedford broke out to a 23-4 lead near the end of the first quarter, and the Bucs emptied the bench.  A total of 10 players made it on the scoring sheet – including Chris Venuti, Brendan Jones, Wynter Cornely, and Chaddon Hill.

Bedford Bucs continue the Division 3 North playoffs this Friday, March 2nd, at 7 PM at home against Whittier.
