Spring 2018 is scheduled to arrive in Bedford at 12:15 pm on Tuesday, March 20. On Monday evening, however, the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency released a Winter Storm Watch for the afternoon of Wednesday, March 21 through Thursday morning, March 21.

This ‘4th’easter’ is expected to dump 6 to 8 inches of new snow on Bedford during the fourth Nor’easter to affect Bedford during the month of March.

While earlier forecasts were less certain, MEMA notes that the National Weather Service is increasingly confident that a large portion of the Commonwealth will experience snow, strong winds, and minor to moderate coastal flooding.

The National Weather Service in Boston Tweeted a warning that damage from previous March storms has made trees especially vulnerable, causing possible power outages.

Editor’s Note: The Bedford Citizen thanks Becky Ricci for coining the sobriquet 4th’easter for the storm
