Submitted by the Bedford Trails Committee
Please join the Bedford Trails Committee for a free Trail Walk to explore the Dellovo Conservation Area, which then leads onto the Massport property. The goal is either Thoreau’s birthplace, or a loop thru Dellovo, depending on conditions that day. The walk will last about 2 hours or less.
When and Where:
We meet at 9:45 AM at the parking lot behind the Bedford Free Public Library. Alternatively, you can meet us at the trailhead parking lot on Route 62 (see map), where we will leave at 10:10 am sharp. The trailhead parking lot is located on Route 62, next to the Bedford Children’s Center. From Bedford, it is on the left about 1.8 miles from the split with Route 225. Note that we currently don’t have permission to park at the Bedford Children’s Center, so either rendezvous at the Library, or park at the Trailhead parking lot or on Lavender Lane.
Leader:
Bruce Wisentaner, Bedford Trails Committee
Note:
Our Trail Walk will be slow-paced, with flat terrain but expected to be muddy or icy, with stream crossings and possibly downed trees and limbs. Please wear comfortable, closed toe, walking shoes or boots that can handle wet, ice or snow. Well-socialized children and well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome. We will walk rain, snow, or shine.
