The Bedford Chamber of Commerce will continue the long-standing tradition of the Barrett Sotheby’s Senior Prom Stroll on May 31st from 4-6 pm on the Town Common. The class picture will be taken at 4:45 pm, followed by the promenade. This year’s event will once again be sponsored by Barrett Sotheby’s. Everyone is welcome to this town-wide event! In case of inclement weather, the stroll will take place in the high school gymnasium.

2018 marks the 21st year for the Annual Prom Stroll. Maureen Sullivan, Executive Director for the Bedford Chamber of Commerce, had a vision in 1997 when she gathered 35 couples to begin the tradition which has become a town favorite.

“I had to do a little bribing of the senior class that first year to get them to participate. I told them they would be part of history as the first class to start this tradition,” said Sullivan. “The Prom Stroll represents everything that is great about living in a small town and of course we are grateful to our sponsor Barrett Sotheby’s for their sponsorship. It’s amazing how supportive our local businesses are in regards to the schools and community.”

Family and friends along with the community gather around Bedford Common to watch and celebrate Bedford High School seniors and their dates.

Laurie Cadigan, CEO and owner of Barrett Sotheby’s International Realty, is proud to once again have her company sponsor this year’s event. “It’s a safe way for students to get to prom. We have many agents, past and present that have had their children participate in this wonderful event.  Last year was our first year and our agents had a great time. We are pleased to support our youth and community”.
