Bedford School Musicals Earn 10 MET Musical Awards

At the MET Musical Awards ceremony on Saturday, June 23, Bedford’s high school and middle school musical productions came away with ten awards total—the best showing yet for BHS and JGMS!

Winners from JGMS’s production of HONK! JR:

  • Best props design and management (accepted by Sarina Oliveri-Kuhnle, props crew)
  • Best choral ensemble (accepted by Mary Couvee, who played Maureen)
  • Best featured actor, Tyler Rauch (The Bullfrog)
  • Best supporting actress, Ellie Mitchell (The Cat)

Winners from BHS’s production of SEUSSICAL:

  • Best lighting design and execution (accepted by Seda Korroch, stage manager)
  • Best set design and execution (accepted by Aidan Duncan, set crew)
  • Best acting ensemble (accepted by Liam Buckley, who played General Genghis Khan Schmitz)
  • Best specialty ensemble, Ellie Hernandez, Tracie Lewis, and Bella Panagiotou (Bird Girls)
  • Best supporting actress, Charlie Anderson (Gertrude McFuzz)
  • Best leading actor, Ben Woodward (Horton the Elephant)

Best Overall Production, Performances

Cate Galante, Best Leading Actress nominee for HONK! JR., performed her solo “Different,” to represent that show.

 

Charlie Anderson and Ben Woodward performed “Notice Me, Horton” to represent SEUSSICAL.

 

Taking Part in the Opening Number

Charlie Anderson, Cate Galante, Ellie Mitchell, and Ben Woodward joined actors, singers, and dancers representing each of the nominated performances in the opening number, “Ease on Down the Road” from THE WIZ.
