Books for Your ‘Go Bag’ ~ The Bedford Citizen’s Summer Reading Week Begins on July 30

By Linda White

With August beginning next week, it seems like an appropriate time to clean out or restock your ‘Go Bag’ with the essentials for vacation; a day at the beach, mountains, lake, Wedgewood, or Springs Brook Park; or an afternoon spent in a hammock in your backyard.  Do you have everything you need? You likely have sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, flip-flops, a water bottle, and a snack but do you have a book from one of Bedford’s many talented authors?

Bedford is fortunate to be home to an amazing number of authors who cover a wide range of topics and interests including mystery, poetry, creative arts, and titles for children.

Here are five authors who have each had books published within the last year:

  • Barbara Feehrer – Lake Lessons: Reflections
  • Todd Nichols – Peas and Hambone Save Us All
  • Barbara Purchia – Contemporary Sand Sculpture
  • Jim Petipas – The Cows Go Moo!
  • Sherry Harris – I Know What You Bid Last Summer

The Citizen’s Summer Reading Week will feature one author’s work each day from July 30 through August 3.
