Led by timber framer Tom Musco, a sizeable crew of Bedford Rotarians and members of the Job Lane Farm Museum raised the barn that stands alongside the Job Lane House on Saturday, July 26, 1993. The Job Lane board transferred ownership of the barn to the Town of Bedford, on November 4, 1994.

Marking the barn’s 25th anniversary a group of children gathered at the museum to raise a mini-barn while their grown-ups and veteran barn-raisers celebrated the past quarter century.

Members of the original crew present for the celebration included Rotarian Nat Brown, then-board member Ellen Michaud, designer Art Smith, Jeannette Pothier, Sharon McDonald and others.

Now Bedford’s Town Historian, Sharon McDonald composed a song for the occasion as well as a poem of commendation for Jeannette Pothier’s contribution to the barn throughout its life, from initial planning through preparing for the anniversary celebration.
