Town Government at Work for the Week of August 20, 2018

Several interesting meetings are on the docket this week, including one that anticipates possible action at Bedford’s Special Town Meeting on November 13.

Selectmen: A new chapter in Town government will be launched Monday night August 18 when the Selectmen are expected to sign a Town Manager employment agreement with Sarah Stanton who will begin serving as Town Manager on October 1.

In other agenda items the Selectmen will hold a public hearing to consider an Aquifer Protection Special Permit for Homology Medicines Inc. which wishes to install a fuel tank.

The Selectmen will review a draft of a revised Cable TV Committee Bylaw Amendment which may appear on the warrant for Special Town Meeting.

Several appointments are on the agenda. Two applicants will be interviewed for appointment to the two vacancies on the Youth and Family Services (YFS) Committee. The applicants are Dori Pulizzi and Marge Heckman. There is one applicant, Deb Edinger, for one vacancy on the Arbor Resources Committee.

Cultural Council: Several organizational actions are on the Cultural Council agenda including how to evaluate input from the public, establishing responsibilities and review of public and potential private funding,

Conservation Commission will meet on Wednesday night August 22. On the agenda is a public hearing on a Notice of Intent for 295 Concord Road. There is also a request by the resident of 80 North Road to Remove Trees in Minnie Reid CA for installing Solar Panels.

On Thursday August 23 the Zoning Board of Appeals will continue a hearing regarding a request to demolish existing 2-family house and build a new 2-family house in an undersized lot at 247 Concord Road.
