When you love to run, a fall tune-up relay is always a good time.  Bedford Bucs Girls Cross Country participated in the annual Clipper Relay held at Maudslay Park in Newburyport.

Instead of the traditional “everyone starts at the same time”, this race is made up of three-person relay teams, who each run the two-mile loop.  It includes relay batons handed from one runner to another.

The race included all Divisions and some large schools had 4 to 6 teams, which created 157 total teams.

The start included 157 runners funneled down to the width of a footpath after a 100 yards.

Bedford fielded three teams:

Team 17: Anna Broyard, Noy Toledano, and Gabrielle Fournier finished in 50th place with a total time of 43:15, and a pace of 7:13

Team 21: Junior Anya Wintner, sophomore Molly Gilarde, and junior Maddy Broyard – Image (c) Jeff JHO Hoyland, 2018 all rights reserved – Click to view larger image

Team 21: Maddie Broyard, Anya Wintner, and Molly Gilarde finished in 65th place with a total time of 45:27, and a pace of 7:35

Team 18: Lily Nemirovsky, Alaina Capone, and Maddie Anderson-Laporte finished in 75th place with a total time of 46:21, and a pace of 7:35
