Submitted by Melinda Nicholson, on behalf of the Bedford Rotary Club and Delta Dog
Operation Delta Dog, a non-profit organization with a unique program of saving two lives: Rescuing homeless dogs and training them to work as service or assistance dogs for veterans who are suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) or TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) saves both the dog and the Veteran too!
This unique program has inspired the Rotary Club of Bedford to name Operation Delta Dog as one of the Club’s principal projects for 2018.
We would love your support with either of the following requests:
- Donations for the Veterans’ care packages – gas gift cards, dog toys, gift cards to anything dog related (other than food)…pets store, veterinarian services, grooming, etc., personal hygiene items…shaving tools, mouthwash, grocery store gift cards, etc. Really most anything that you could use, they could use. Note: Rotary hopes to collect 20-25 of each type of donation for the Veterans’ care packages. The program would need these items by September 24!
- Donated items can be dropped off at Middlesex Savings Bank, 186 Great Rd. Bedford, MA.
- Donation of any financial denomination: Checks made out to Bedford Rotary Foundation will go towards our matching grant from the Rotary Foundation. Checks can be mailed to The Bedford Rotary Foundation PO Box 414, Bedford, MA 01730.
The Bedford Rotary Foundation, a 501-C-3 non-profit organization, is the recipient and conduit for all donations destined to go to Operation Delta Dog. https://www.operationdeltadog.org/
