Town Government at Work for the Week of September 10, 2018

September 7, 2018

By Meredith McCulloch

Town Government is back in full swing as fall begins. Below are some of the highlights of the upcoming week.

The Planning Board meets on Tuesday night for special permit hearings on two projects. One would allow further development of Pine Hill Crossing by demolishing of 3 existing units and adding 17 new detached houses. Twelve detached houses would be kept.

A second permit hearing would allow the construction of 31garages for residents at the Page Place condominium site. They would be grouped in structures of 3-7 units at several locations and be designed to complement the architecture of the existing building.  In addition, there is a request to modify the open space portion of the property to carve out a house lot for a new single-family house the sale of which would help finance the construction of the garages.

On Monday the Board of Health will gather at 7:00 pm in the Flint Room at Town Center to discuss three proposed bus stop shelters.

The Trails Committee will review trail and bog bridge projects and get an update on fall trail walks. They meet in the small conference room at the Department of Public Works.

The Recreation Commission will meet at the Town Center at 7:00 pm in the Fitch Room. They will hear about Fall Enrollment, Kids’ Club and the basketball program and take a looking back at the Springs Brook Park and Summer Adventures.

A reminder that the Tri-Town Transit Study invites resident participation in a survey of transportation needs and to attend the public meeting scheduled for September 19, 2018, at 7 pm in the Reed Conference Room in Town Hall.
