Town Government at Work for the Week of October 29, 2018

A busy week coming up: Early voting continues, along with a schedule of important meetings leading up to Special Town Meeting on Tuesday, November 13.

The Mid-Term Federal and State election will take place on Tuesday, November 6. Early voting is still available through Friday, November 2 in the Richard Reed Room at Town Hall, 10 Mudge Way. Details are spelled out by the Town Clerk: “The hours are Monday, Wednesday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm, with extended hours until 7 pm on Tuesday.”  Please contact the Town Clerk at 781-275-0083 for further information.’

The Fiscal Coordinating Committee will meet at 6:30 pm on Monday, October 29 to review the warrant for the Special Town Meeting on November 13, and to review any recent changes in the Fiscal Budget model for FY2019. There will also be an update of the Davis School addition/renovation project.

The Selectmen will begin their meeting on Monday, October 29 in Executive Session at 7 pm. In their regular session, they will hear a presentation of the Housing Strategic Study, and Town Manager Sarah Stanton will discuss the impact on town departments of a possible housing expansion at the VA.

On Tuesday, October 30, the Recreation Commission will meet at 7 pm in the Fitch Room at Town Center; David Manugian, Director of Public Works, will attend to discuss Springs Brook Park. Also on October 30, Bedford’s Conservation Commission will meet at 7 pm and the Land Acquisition Committee at 7:30 in Town Hall. The Finance Committee will meet on Thursday, November 1 at 7:30.
