Although a deep freeze fell over Bedford on November 22, the town’s annual Turkey Trot came off without a hitch to raise funds that benefit the Bedford Food Pantry and Community Table. No one seemed fazed by the chill.

Runners and walkers posted bundled-up selfies on Facebook and later bragged about the cold. According to one walker, fewer than a third of the registered runners stayed home for the race.

New in his job this year, race director Chuck Connell fielded questions like a pro, and presided over the winners ceremony with aplomb.

Both of the first-place runners joined the race from MIT as others have done in the past; the male winner was Alex Knoedler, and the female winner was Dhamanpreet Kaur. Two six-person teams, the Bertos and Rennich families, will be getting $50 restaurant gift certificates, donated by Virsa de Punjab and Red Heat.
