Lights in the trees on Bedford Common twinkled when the countdown clock reached 00:00:00, the bell in the steeple at First Parish on Bedford Common pealed, and new Town Manager Sarah Stanton flipped a remote switch from the meeting house steps. Within moments, Ladder One drove alongside the Common, with a very special passenger: Santa Claus!

Hundreds of families were on the Common as dusk turned to dark, drawn by the Winter Walkabout, the tree lighting, and Santa’s arrival.
