Navy Hangar Auction Resumes ~ Closing Date Now Set for January 31

January 29, 2019

Compiled by The Bedford Citizen

When the federal government shutdown began on December 22, Bidder 6 in the GSA auction for the divested US Navy Hangar occupying a 16-acre parcel along Hartwell Road led the bidding at $9,020,000, and the end date was changed to ‘TBD’ so that the auction didn’t end during the shutdown.

At the end of the government’s hiatus, the GSA reactivated the auction site on Monday afternoon, entering a duplicate $9,020,000 bid on behalf of Bidder 6, and pushing the end of the auction out to 4 pm Central Time on Thursday, January 31, 2019.

Correction: The shutdown began on December 22, not on the 21st when the final pre-shutdown bid was entered.
