When you start the season with three straight losses, you know it will be an uphill battle to make it to the state playoffs.

Bedford Buccaneers Boys Ice Hockey team needs to win its last three games to make the playoffs. Making their 4-3 loss to Lowell on Valentine’s Day such a heart breaker.

Bedford had beaten Lowell 7-5 back on January 5th, but the Hawks were on home ice in the Tsongas Arena and were determined to get revenge on Valentine’s Day.

Lowell jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 1st on a powerplay, but the Bucs tied it up less than a minute into the second period on a goal from Adam Driscoll.

Lowell responded quickly to jump back to a 2-1 lead.

With the referee’s hand raised to call a penalty on Lowell, Jackson Stuzynski went for broke and stormed the goal and tied it at 2 each.

The teams traded goals in the 3rd with the Bedford goal by James Demeo, assisted by Jackson Stuzynski, and Bobby Marcus.

With 33 seconds left in the game, Lowell scored the final winning goal after shelling the Bedford goal over the last minute.
