BHS Student Achieves Eagle Scout Rank

Cory Abraham, a junior at Bedford High School and a member of Bedford Boy Scout Troop 114, has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Scouting.

This accomplishment represents almost six years of adventure, fun, work, and dedication to the Boy Scout program for Cory. He is also a member of the Pennacook Lodge Order of the Arrow.

During the process of satisfying the requirements for his Eagle Scout rank, Cory has performed community service and provided service and leadership for his troop. In addition to the traditional outdoor skills learned in Boy Scouts, Cory has earned a host of merit badges includes those from engineering and nuclear science to woodcarving.

His Eagle Scout service project was to build a storage shed for the Bedford Council on Aging (COA). Cory and his team of troop volunteers landscaped the area, built a retaining wall, and constructed a storage shed for the COA.

Cory will be formally presented with the Eagle Scout award at a Court of Honor ceremony at the St. Michael’s Church social hall on May 18.
