Bedford-Hanscom Girl Scout Troop 71644 is holding a Paper and Toiletry drive to help local Coast Guard families affected by the recent government shut down. The drive is underway and will last through the end of February.

Soap, deodorant, and personal hygiene products;  laundry and dish detergent; paper towels and toilet paper are welcome.  Though families need these products, they are not typically available through food banks. If the government doesn’t shut down again, these donations will be donated to homeless shelters.

There are several drop-off locations:

  • Bedford/Hanscom Scout House – 282 Wood Street, Lexington
  • Hanegan residence – 5 Hunt Road, Bedford

Be sure to include a note with the troop your gift represents so that the troop members will each receive a special Girl Scout patch.
