Letter to the Editor, 18 February 2019: Candidate Emily Mitchell

By Wendy and Paul Ciaccia

We are pleased and honored to support the candidacy of Emily Mitchell for Selectman for the Town of Bedford.

We have known Emily for close to 18 years through our interactions with her at St Paul’s Episcopal Church and can verify that she has all the qualifications that are necessary to serve the town. We have seen her many skills in organization, communication, leadership, enthusiasm and ability to relate to all ages and diverse backgrounds.

Emily has been a high school youth leader for many years and she initiated the youth mission trip to Appalachia in 2013. From the first trip with 4 youth and 2 adults to the fifth trip with 20 youth and 9 adults, her spirit, enthusiasm and leadership was the motivating force of the success of this program.

She was also the driving force behind three theatre productions- St Paul’s Tonight.. Emily wrote and directed over 50 members of the church (age 3-70) in the very successful musical revue presented town wide.

Emily was a leader of the church during a transition period where she managed the church programs and was involved with interviewing and hiring interim and permanent priests. Emily was also instrumental in the year long 50th anniversary celebration events at the church.

Emily remains a key contributor to the life and mission of St Paul’s.

We feel that she will be a tremendous asset as Selectman in the Town of Bedford.

Please vote for Emily Mitchell on March 9th.
