Town Election, 2019 ~ An Invitation to submit Letters to the Editor and “Political Ads”

Compiled by The Bedford Citizen

With contested races for Selectman and Library Trustee on the ballot for Bedford’s March 9 Town Election, we invite you to share your thoughts and opinions through Letters to the Editor. Several letters have already arrived, and they will begin to post on Monday, February 18, in the order of their receipt.

A person or campaign must take responsibility for the letter’s content and agree to be listed as the writer in its byline.

Individual Letters to the Editor

While a typical word count for letters is 250-300 words, as an online news source The Citizen isn’t limited by ‘column inches’ as a print publication might be. A compelling letter of whatever length is welcome.

Letters Signed by Multiple Voters

Such letters are popular, and in print media are often thought of as political ads, offering information about a candidate along with a list of supportive voters. Each would be posted as an individual Letter to the Editor.

Publication Queue

Should multiple letters arrive on a particular date, they will be published as PDF links in a single document, clearly marked with the names of the candidates and writers.

Email your Letters to the Editor to [email protected], including a name and valid phone number should we need to reach you.
