Annual Town Meeting, Night One: The Official Votes

Town Clerk Doreen Tremblay posted the votes for the first night of Bedford’s Annual Town Meeting on Tuesday morning.

Here’s the official word:

The Annual Town Meeting convened on March 25, 2019 the Bedford High School Auditorium at 7:05 PM. The Moderator called the Annual Town Meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. The quorum was three hundred and twenty-five voters.

Article 2: Debate Rules declared motion passes with a two-thirds vote.

Article 3: Consent Article passes with two-thirds majority.

Article 4: Bills of Prior Years postponed unanimously.

Article 5: Revolving Funds Expenditure Limits passes unanimously.

Article 6: Amend Fiscal Year 2019 Community Preservation Budget passes unanimously.

Article 7: Bond Authorization-Community Preservation-Fawn Lake passes with two-thirds majority.

Article 8: Community Preservation Budget – Fiscal Year 2020- Items 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 9, the  Moderator declared  that portion  passes  unanimously. Item 2 declared passes unanimously. Item 4 declared passes unanimously. Item 8 declared motion passes with majority. Item 10 declared motion passes with a majority. Item 10 declared motion passes with a majority. Item 11 declared passes unanimously. Item 12 declared divided question passes by majority vote. Item 12 Great Room Renovation ($120,000) declared motion passes with majority. ADA Renovation of Old Town Hall ($167,000) declared this fails. First Floor Renovation ($165,000) declared motion passes with a majority.

Article 9: Land Acquisition Fund declared motion passes with a majority.

Article 10: 43D Expedited Permitting for Priority Development Sites passes unanimously.

Article 11: Acceptance of MGL Chapter 40, Section 8 J-Commission on Disability passes unanimously.

Article 12: Zoning Bylaw Amendment – Life Science Uses in Commercial Districts declared motion passes unanimously.

Article 13: Zoning Bylaw Amendment – Elimination of References to General Business Districts declared motion passes unanimously.

Article 14: Zoning Map Amendment –  Rezone 9A Benjamin Kidder Way from  Limited Business District to Residence B District declared motion passes unanimously.

Article 15: Zoning Bylaw Amendment – Restaurants over 5,000 Square Feet in the Great Road Districts declared motion  passes  with  two-thirds  majority.

Article 16: Zoning  Bylaw Diagnostic and Reorganization  declared it passes unanimously.

Article 17: Street Acceptance – Willow Lane declared passes unanimously.

Article 18: Petitioners’ Article: Statement of Town’s Concern at Lack of Federal and State Action Against Global Warming declared the motion carries.

Michael Rosenberg made a motion to adjourn the Annual Town Meeting to Tuesday, March 26, 2019 in the Bedford High School Auditorium at 7:00 PM. The motion was seconded. The Annual Town Meeting adjourned at 10:52 PM.
