URGENT ~ Trash and Recycling Delayed until 7 am on Tuesday, March 5

Submitted by Ed McGrath, Bedford’s Recycling Coordinator

Due to poor driving conditions, Republic Services pulled its trucks off the road today and will operate on a holiday schedule this week. This means refuse and recycling collection in Bedford will be tomorrow, Tuesday, March 5. The DPW asks residents to keep their trash carts and recycling containers off the road today to allow so it can finish cleaning the road.

Residents should put out their trash carts and recycling containers tomorrow by 7 a.m.

“Republic had several trucks get stuck early this morning and made the decision to keep its vehicles off the road,” said Ed McGrath, Bedford’s Recycling Coordinator. “We had planned to delay collection until after 8 a.m. but apparently the storm dropped more snow than was forecast.”

McGrath also suggests residents clear a space for their trash cart in the snow bank by the curb and help prevent it from getting hit by a vehicle.

The holiday schedule also means bulk waste pick up will be tomorrow and appliance pick up will be Thursday.
