Bedford Girls Varsity Lacrosse team has lofty goals this year. They came out of the gate with a 10 to 0 win over Advanced Math & Science Academy Charter School.
To fully appreciate this win, you need to go back exactly one year, when a bunch of varsity players got thumped by Boston Latin on a cold and windy Boston waterfront. Boston Latin should them just how high the bar is set to play girls lacrosse in the DCL. It has been a year of hard work by the returning veterans, and they were aching to show their new skills and confidence.

The highlight of Saturday’s game was not any one player, but the crisp passing as a team. The Bucs were slow and methodical, passing the ball around the net before striking for a goal.
Seven different players scored for Bedford: Grace Babington (1), Allie Zorn (1), Bella Stuzynski (3), Astrid Yerardi (1), Shannon Young (1), Sofie Morrissey (2), and Sofia Seldon (1)
Frosh Astrid Yerardi was the surprise secret weapon on offense. When an offense relies on ball control it seemed like Astrid always had the ball on her stick.
