Submitted by the Bedford Cultural Council

The Bedford Cultural Council is pleased to host a reception to honor the FY19 grant award recipients on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at the Bedford Public Library from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.

Current and past grant recipients are invited and the public is welcome.

Featured speakers will be State Senator Michael Barrett and State Representative Ken Gordon as well as presentations and displays by some of the FY19 grant recipients. All are welcome to attend!

The Bedford Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. This program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community. In addition, the Town of Bedford allocated $4,600 to augment the pool of funds.
In FY19, the Bedford Cultural Council funded 23 grants totaling over $10,000. The full list of grant recipients is at https://www.mass-culture.org/Bedford.

The Bedford Cultural Council will seek applications again in the fall. Information and forms will be available online in the early fall at www.massculturalcouncil.org.   Applications are due October 15.
