Follow-up ~ Saturday’s Automobile/Cyclist Collision

A collision between an automobile and a bicycle near Willson Park on Saturday afternoon sent the cyclist to Lahey with non-life-threatening injuries

Traveling east from North Road into The Great Road, cyclist Melinda Barnes was struck by a 2011 Audi sedan driven by 91-year-old Nancy Ferrara traveling westbound on The Great Road. According to witnesses, the collision took place in the westbound lane, in front of 3 The Great Road,

The Bedford Fire Department provided medical aid to Barnes at the scene and transported the cyclist to Lahey for further evaluation.

According to the police report, the driver was issued a “Massachusetts Uniform Citation 389777AA in hand for c. 89 s. 8 (Fail to Yield to Intersection), Warning,” and was able to drive her vehicle away from the scene.
