Retail Visioning Workshop Brings Professional Advice and Fresh Ideas to Bedford’s Storefront Business Owners

Submitted by Alyssa Sandoval, Bedford’s Economic Development Director

The Town of Bedford is pleased to be bringing an exciting workshop to our area for the benefit of our storefront small businesses.  The retail industry is facing changes, large and small — but there are things that can be done to survive and thrive!

This FREE workshop provides ideas and instruction in the areas of business identity and positioning, store design, visual merchandising, and retail marketing.   Tips, tools, trends, and tricks of the trade will be shared — and business owners’ questions will be answered.

Retail Best Practices – The Power of Presentation is delivered by Christine Moynihan of Retail Visioning.  This program has already helped hundreds of business owners improve the look, feel and messaging of their establishments.  Formerly the VP of Retail Marketing for a national footwear brand, Chris has helped launch a number of new store concepts around the country and has worked to support and improve independent retail establishments for over 15 years.  Over 2,000 retailers have attended her workshops.  Every attendee at the workshop will receive a copy of her booklet: A Retailer’s Gut Check, A Self-Assessment Guide for Small Business.

Additionally, at the workshop attendees can apply to have 1 of 8 one-on-one consultations with the speaker to help them resolve specific challenges.  Each of the 8 businesses selected is eligible to receive up to $500 to facilitate improvements recommended by the consultant!

The workshop is provided by the Massachusetts Downtown Initiative through a grant to the town.  It will be held on June 12 at the Bedford Town Hall, 10 Mudge Way.  The program will run from 8:00 am to 9:30 am.  Coffee and an opportunity for business owners to network with one another will begin at 7:30 am.

For more information about the program or to register to attend, please contact Alyssa Sandoval by email: [email protected] or by phone: 781-275-1111. Registration is recommended.
