Town Government at Work the Week of May 20,2019

By Meredith McCulloch

Although next week’s board and committee meeting schedule is not packed full, important topics will be discussed.

The Selectmen will meet at 7 pm on Monday, May 20. A prime topic will be an initial discussion of a proposed change in the bylaw governing the Capital Expenditures Committee. Town Manager Sarah Stanton is expected to recommend that the preparation of the 6-year Cap-Ex plan become an internal process overseen by a Capital Investments Committee with input from town departments.  The Charter and Bylaws Review Committee would consider the change as part of their current review.

Selectman Emily Mitchell is expected to be appointed to represent the town on the Hanscom Field Advisory Commission. Much of the rest of the agenda consists of committee appointments and annual contract renewals.

The Conservation Commission will meet at 7 pm on Wednesday, May 22, with a Public Hearing on Notice of Intent for 40-44 Wiggins Avenue on behalf of Bedford Patriot Park on Wiggins Avenue.
