Residents with long memories can’t recall a Strawberry Festival ever being rained out, but the possibility exists tomorrow, with a forecast of chilly, wet weather from 6 to 9 pm on Thursday, June 13.
If it rains, First Church has its guests covered — the 69th Annual Strawberry Festival will move to First Church’s Upper Fellowship Hall, but everything else will stay the same. The main event will be strawberry shortcake with fresh strawberries, homemade biscuits, with real whipped cream, along with Bedford Farms vanilla ice cream and homemade hot fudge sauce.
There will still be a clear sense of Americana and celebration, especially since this year’s festival is dedicated to the memory of founder Mickey Webber. There will be stories and photographs to share. Add in live entertainment with free admission, coffee, and tea. The organizers, volunteers, and the other guests look forward to seeing you there!
Spread the word and reconnect with friends at the 69th annual Strawberry Festival – Rain or Shine, from 6 to 9 pm on Thursday, June 13
First Church is located at 25 The Great Road, with free parking is available in the Town Lot, off Mudge Way behind the church
