On Saturday, June 1, the Bedford Elementary Schools Together (BEST) PTO held their 4th Annual Color Run Fundraiser.  Over 890 runners registered this year, which is a new record for this event in Bedford since its first year in 2016.  The success of this fundraiser allowed the BEST PTO to raise over $30,000 for the Davis and Lane Schools.

These funds will be used for enrichment programs for the elementary school students in Bedford, such as author visits, field trips, the annual Lane School Revels program on immigration, and the annual Davis School Theaterworks musical performance.  BEST PTO also uses these funds for new equipment for the schools, such as the new outdoor building blocks at Davis and the new playground equipment at Lane.

The Color Run event is a 3K fun run where participants run twice around the 1.5K course, getting sprayed with colored powder at each of four stations throughout the race.  Kids get a kick out of being sprayed by the teachers and staff from the Davis and Lane Schools.

This year, additional entertainment included bounce houses, music, and photobooth by Music and Memories Entertainment, a karate demonstration by Callahan’s Karate, a warm up by Groove WRX, and face painting by the Friends of Springs Brook Park.

Families enjoyed food provided by Red Heat, Waxy’s, Comella’s, Bedford Farms, Bedford Cupcakes, water from Salem Five and Wegmans and cotton candy provided by Barrett Sotheby’s.

BEST PTO is thankful for the support of over 60 volunteers and the community sponsors who make this event possible.

A special thanks goes to Platinum level sponsors Suzanne & Company, Callahan Karate, Bedford Dental Associates; Gold level sponsor Inch by Inch; and Silver level sponsors Beaches and Boho, Woburn Foreign Motors, Salem Five, Levine Orthodontics, Jump Apparel, Citicraze, Alfred Dunner, Emerson Hospital, and Bedford Pediatrics.
