The First Church of Christ Congregational hosted their Annual Strawberry Festival on Thursday, June 13th. This year’s festival was dedicated to the late Mickey Webber, founder of the Church’s annual event in 1950, 69 years ago! Although it was a rainy evening and it had to be moved indoors, it was a wonderful celebratory event with a slideshow of past years festivals, lots of pictures on the tables in addition to the homemade strawberry shortcakes. An upbeat musical duo entertained the crowd along with kids’ activities and face painting!
We saw many friends from the community, lots of young families and we received many compliments on the food, music, and festivities. A special thank you to Market Basket, Stop and Shop and Bedford Farms for their generous support of the event. Thank you to the Girls Scouts for assisting the Church’s Green Team on reducing waste at the Strawberry Festival in the recycling station. It was a very successful event, and we hope to see you there next year!
Editor’s Note: Thanks for your patience, better late than never we hope, and this is a reminder to head to a local farm for the last of the native berries for your 4th of July dessert!
