Kevin Tracey, Principal of John Glenn Middle School, welcomed parents and graduates to the 2019 Moving On ceremony. After thanking the community-at-large and the school community, Principal Tracey addressed the graduates.

“I am very proud of you.  You truly are an amazing group of young ladies and gentlemen…from the students who impress us daily in our classrooms to those who relish the stage or displays their prowess on the courts or athletic fields.”  Tracey went on to share the impressions of JGMS teachers and staff: “This group of students are kind, fun, appreciative and they adhere firmly to a sense of justice and always act in advocacy for those in need.  In short, they look out for each other.”

After adding further compliments from teachers and staff, Tracey concluded, “I have no doubt that the members of this class are destined for success and greatness at first in high school and then in life.  My hope is that as you grow into adulthood, you develop passion and joy for what you do, which  mirrors the joy that you have brought me, your teachers and staff.”

Yadkira Delgado led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Sahana Kumar presented the honors essay, a reflection on her time at JGMS. A pair of students who exemplified what Tracey described as exemplifying the school motto, HEART, Peter Benson and Maya Brewster, received the Principal’s Award.

Seas the Day ~ the Moving On Dinner and Celebration

The Class of 2023’s Moving On event was a tremendous success! The students had a great time and families enjoyed watching their 8th graders graduate. The success of the evening is owed to many fabulous people and businesses, as well as the many JGMS families who donated financially to this event.

Moving On Co-Chairs Susan DiGangi & Lisa Kaushik thanked all of the JGMS parents who contributed to the Moving On 2019 dinner and dance for the 8th graders!  The event is run strictly by parent volunteers.  We especially appreciate all of the Committee Chairs, many who spent countless hours planning, designing, and implementing their visions for this event.  Thank you to the many volunteers who joined these committees, attended meetings, and were involved every step of the way!  We can’t thank you enough for giving your time and energy to allow our 8th graders to have a memorable send-off!

The Co-Chairs went on to thank the multitudes who helped make the party a reality (it DOES take a village!)
