The Plain Truth

August 15, 2019

By Ginni Spencer and Teri Morrow

At The Bedford Citizen, we specialize in the plain truth.  Facts and objectivity are our highest values. Our goals are to inform readers like you and encourage active citizen participation.  We’re online, reliable, and we typically publish 20+ stories a week on our website. We offer email subscribers daily and weekly updates. Plus, you can follow us on Facebook and Twitter to stay up-to-date.

Oh…did we mention we are also free?

Well, kind of.

We don’t charge readers like you for a subscription. So, The Citizen IS free

But the plain truth is we pay our reporters, Managing Editor, part-time Operations Manager, web consultant, and software and server providers.  We have administrative expenses.  We are a stand-alone, nonprofit community organization, dependent on donations, grants, and our sponsors.  Despite the hundreds and hundreds of hours of volunteer time logged in 2018 by content contributors, photographers, and members of our Board of Directors, we can’t develop and deliver The Citizen to you on a cost-free basis.

This is where you come in.

Please support The Citizen with your most generous gift.  Our goal this year is $45,000.  So far, we have raised nearly $25,000.  We want to maintain The Citizen as the go-to source for local news: reliable, online, free. Your gift today will make that happen.

Please send your check today to P.O. Box 212, Bedford, MA 01730 or donate today. And when you do, pat yourself on the back; you’re bringing the news to our Bedford!

The Bedford Citizen is a 501(c)3 organization, and your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
