Westford Hosts Wedgewood for the Season’s Final Dual Swim Meet

Westford Swim and Tennis hosted Wedgewood Swim and Tennis club of Bedford for the final dual swim meet of the season on Saturday, July 27, before the Championships on Saturday, August 3.    Both swim teams swam well!

The 6 and under age group had a strong showing.   For the boys 12m backstroke, Luke Brady, Justin Mark, and Sam Lynch swept the top 3 places, and in freestyle, Luke Brady took first and Justin Mark 3rd.  For the girls, Mika Cieplinski took 2nd place in both backstroke and freestyle.

In the 8 and under age group, for 25m butterfly top finish for the girls went to Ella Dadah (3rd) and for the boys, Zach Hallet took second and Adam Silver third.  For the 25m breaststroke, the top spot for the girls went to Brielle Carmen in first place.  The boys top three spots went to Henrik Muelhoefer, Ben Campbell and Luke O’Brian.  In the 25m freestyle, Nora Bailey took second, and Mark Siciliano third for the girls, and Henrik Muelhoefer and Tim Carroll took third and fourth for the boys.   The girls swept the top 4 spots in 25m backstroke thanks to Ella Dadah and Nora Bailey who tied for 1st, Ainsley Reid, Abbey Miller, and Mary Siciliano.    For the boys, Zachary Hallet and Jack Lynch tied for 3rd, and Blake Cieplinski took 4th.

In the 10 and under age group, in the 25m butterfly, Abigail Titlow, Lucy Scoville, and Isabel Gittins took the top three finishes.   For the boys, William Siciliano and Sanders Bertos took second and third place.   in the 25m breaststroke, the girls swept the first four spots thanks to Sophia Demeo, Lucy Scoville, Isabel Gittins, and Taylor Hallet.    Owen Brough took 2nd place for the boys.    In the 25m freestyle, Claire Wirth took the top spot, Olivia O’Brian took 3rd and Willow McGinness 4th.  For the boys, Sanders Bertos came in 2nd and Theo Mattson 4th.   For the 25m backstroke, Delaney Bertos took home 1st place for the girls followed by Claire Wirth in 3rd and Olivia O’Brian in 4th.    For the boys, Jack Campbell took home a 3rd place finish.

In the 12 and under age group, Katie Dillon and McKenna Wilson took home 3rd and 4th place in the 50m butterfly for the girls.  For the boys, Charles Demeo took first place.    In the 50m breaststroke, Elizabeth Campbell took 4th place for the girls, and Zachary Wirth took 2nd and Andrew Scoville 4th for the boys.    In the 50m freestyle, Kyra Doherty took first and McKenna Wilson second for the girls.   For the boys, Charlie Siciliano took 3rd and Andrew Scoville 4th.    In the 50m backstroke, Kyra Doherty took 3rd place for the girls, and Charlie Siciliano took 4th for the boys.

For the 14 and under age group, in the 50m butterfly, Sally MacPhee took 3rd for the girls, and Charlie O’Brian took 4th for the boys.  In the 50m breaststroke, Sally MacPhee took 3rd for the girls, and Alex Brough and Alex Mattson took 3rd and 4th for the boys.   In the 50m freestyle, Ann Girifalco took 2nd for the girls.  In the 50m backstroke, Charlotte Weber took first for the girls, and Alex Brough took third for the boys.

For the 17 and under age group, in the 50m butterfly, Julia Palazzo took 3rd for the girls, and Sophia Seldon took 4th.    For the 50m breaststroke, Sarah Wirth took 1st for the girls, and Sophia Seldon took 4th.  In the 100m freestyle, Julia Palazzo took 2nd, Lily Nemirovsky took 3rd, and Caroline Towle took 4th.   For the boys, George Rackey took first, and Maxwell Weisz took second.   In the 50M backstroke, Caitlin Pequeno took 2nd place, and Nicole Hebert took 3rd.    For the boys, George Rackey took 2nd and Sam Lincoln 3rd.

Wedgewood had strong showings in the relays as well.   In the 100m grad relay.  Earning 2nd place for the girls was the team of Charlotte Weber, Delaney Bertos, Julia Palazzo, and Katie Dillon.  Earning 3rd place for the girls was the team of Caitlin Pequeno, Teresa Silver, Taelor Nichols, and Isabella Seldon.  For the boys, the team of Gabe Favalora, Andrew Scoville, Maxwell Weisz, and Zachary Wirth took 2nd.   Taking 3rd was the team of George Rackey, Henrik Muelhoefer, Charlie O’Brian, and William Siciliano.     For the 200m Freestyle grad relay, taking 2nd place was the team of Brielle Carman, Claire Wirth, McKenna Wilson, Sally MacPhee, and Lily Nemirovsky.   Taking 4th pace was the team of Mary Siciliano, Olivia O’Brien, Kyra Doherty, Ann Girafalco, and Sarah Wirth.   For the boys, take 3rd place was the team of Zachary Hallet, Jack Campbell, Charlie Siciliano, Charles Demeo, and Chris Wirth.  Taking 4th place was the team of Ben Campbell, Owen Brough, Alex Brough, Rylan Nichols, and Sam Lincoln.    In the 100m IM, for the 9-10 girls, Bertos Delaney took first and Teresa Silver second for the girls and William Siciliano took 2nd and Owen Brough 3rd for the boys.   For the 11-12-year-olds, Katie Dillon took 2nd for the girls, and Zachary Wirth took 1st for the boys.   For the 13-14-year-olds, Charlotte Weber took 2nd and Ann Girifalco 4th for the girls, and Charles Demeo took 3rd for the boys.    For the 15-17-year-olds, Lily Nemirovsky took 2nd for the girls, and Sarah Wirth took 3rd.  For the boys, Chris Wirth took first, and Maxwell Weisz took 3rd.
