Joseph D. Riley, Jr., Colonel, USAF (Ret), passed away on September 1. Col. Riley serviced in Vietnam, and his family followed his career, moving around the world until his last assignment in 1975 brought him to Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford where his career ended in 1979. Col. Riley chose retirement rather than another relocation and then worked for many years as a Program Director at GTE (General Telephone and Electronics Corp).
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Michael Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford, on Tuesday, September 10, at 10:00 AM. Burial at Shawsheen Cemetery.
