The Bedford Arts and Crafts Society (BACS) announces three exciting upcoming events on Bedford Day — the annual Bedford Day Regional Art Show, a Silent Auction, and the BACS Craft Sale, booth chock full of items crafted by BACS members.

Proceeds from the three activities will support next year’s annual BACS scholarship. It will be awarded to a graduating Bedford High School student who plans to pursue an art-related degree and career.

BACS Annual Regional Art Show

Artists from Bedford and surrounding towns are invited to exhibit and compete in BACS’s annual Regional Art Show, which will be held on September 20 and 21 at the Town Center. The juror for 2019 is Alexandra Sheldon, a Cambridge-based landscape painter, and collage artist.

Categories this year include Watercolor; Oil/Acrylic; Drawing/Pastel; 3-Dimensional; Photography; and Other Media. Also, the juror will designate a “Best of Show” award.

Entry forms are available on the BACS website at www.bacsma.org/bedford-day/, as well as at the Bedford Library, the Bedford Recreation Department, the Council on Aging, and Great Road Gallery and Framing. Forms will also be available at the time of art drop-off. Participating artists may submit up to three entries, which will be accepted at the Union Room at Bedford Town Center (yellow building), 12 Mudge Way, on Wednesday, September 18, from 6 to 8 pm, and Friday, September 20, from 9:30 am to 12:00  pm. For inquiries about the art show, send your questions to [email protected].
