Replacing Bedford’s water meters is an ongoing DPW project in collaboration with an independent contractor, Mass Installation, Inc.  The new meters will eliminate estimated readings and help to detect leaks. Residents will get a postcard reminder when it’s time to schedule their 30-minute appointments as their home approaches the head of the installation queue.

As viewed on Facebook, comments from neighbors were enthusiastic about the sidewalk installed along Pine Hill Road, from Heritage Drive to North Road. Sidewalk projects are also underway at Shawsheen Road, Summer Street, South Road, as well as portions of Old Billerica Road and Burlington Road.

Registration for the 2019 SAFE HOMES program is underway. Participating families promise to provide a safe and supervised space for teen parties. The Safe Homes pledge is NOT a legally binding contract but an “Agreement” among a community network of parents.
