October 9: Massport will Hold a Training Exercise at Hanscom Field

October 8, 2019

On Wednesday, October 9, Massport and the Massachusetts State Police, in conjunction with our law enforcement and emergency response partners, will conduct a training exercise at Hanscom Field Airport in Bedford. The safety and security of the airport’s customers and employees is our top priority and to that end, multiple drills and exercises are conducted at the Authority’s facilities throughout the year.

Neighbors in the communities surrounding Hanscom Airport, and the public, should not be alarmed by emergency vehicles responding to Hanscom for this exercise. The use of lights and sirens will be limited to the airport campus, but there is a potential for loud noises and/or flashing lights during the exercise to reach the areas immediately surrounding the airport. Massport is asking all participating agencies to use consideration and courtesy of our neighbors during the exercise.

This is a closed event, and we will not be making accommodations for the public to observe.
