Bedford finished the XC regular season with a record of 2-4 in a competitive Dual County League (containing All State Champions Concord Carlisle). Against schools their own size, girls’ cross country ended their season with a high note at Eastern Regionals in Wrentham.

On a frigid Saturday afternoon, the Bedford girls finished 5th out of 22 Division IV teams in the last race of the day, making it the best team finish since 2014.

Coach Joel Hebert described the race as “second best showing as a team since 2008” and only the second time in team history to have five girls make the “blue” squad” (sub 22:00 5k) in the same race.

Representing the Bedford girls were “two sets of super twins” (Anna and Maddy Broyard and Coco and Lulu Steele), Lily Nemirovsky, Gabriella Fournier, and Julia Silvestrone.

Lily Nemirovsky led the way with a massive PR of 20:17 and an 11th place overall finish that qualified for All-States at Gardner the following Saturday.

After another week of practice, Lily ran at All-States with the support of several teammates and Bedford alumni. Although the hilly course did not lead to a PR, she ended her season with a respectable 89th place out of 176 runners.
