Sunday Afternoon Power Outage in West Bedford

November 24, 2019

November 24’s cheerless rain was punctuated by a bright blue flash according to the Facebook report of a driver traveling west along Concord Road. Another report from a Davis Road resident described grey ceramic shards in the road from the cover of a circuit breaker that blew, protecting residents from a power surge.

A momentary brownout early Sunday afternoon was followed by a power outage that Eversource said affected more than 400 residents in a single incident located at Davis School.  Later three sites were highlighted on the power company’s outage map: Notre Dame Road, near Cedar Lane, 232 customers; Concord near the western end of Davis Road, 121 customers; and Concord Road near the intersection of the Reformatory Branch trail, 70 customers.

Customers in the area of the Cedar Lane/Davis Road outage were the first to be back, with the other 219 customers expected to be returned to service around 5 pm. An important target, with the Patriots/Cowboys game scheduled to begin at 4:25!
